Central Project Evaluation of GIZ’s Sector Project Sustainable Agriculture (NAREN)

FAKT carried out the project evaluation of GIZ’s sector project sustainable agriculture (NAREN). The sector project advises the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) on policy content and strategy development for sustainable agriculture as well as on responding to questions posed by policy-makers and the general public on the subject. NAREN’s advisory services help BMZ to shape political discussions and processes relating to sustainable agriculture at national and international level.

In addition, it provides advice and information materials on issues relating to sustainable agriculture to German development cooperation programmes. With its training measures the sector project develops the capacity of experts involved in other projects and from partner organisations. With its knowledge management, advising projects and programmes in partner countries and networking, the sector project promotes the dissemination of agricultural approaches that raise productivity sustainably and are adapted to climate change.
