Evaluation of NGO-Projects supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development

The Rhein-Donau-Stiftung, a German NGO with an orientation towards the concepts of Opus Dei, is supporting partner organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America, which are partly co-funded by the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung – BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development). An enquiry in the German Parliament motivated the BMZ to commission an external evaluation in order to assess the accomplishment with respect to the guidelines for BMZ funding. Five projects in the sectors health, education and rural development in four countries in Latin America and Africa were evaluated.
